Self Care Sundays: Forest Bathing at Waterloo Greenway in Austin, TX

  • Waterloo Greenway 500 East 12th Street Austin, TX, 78701 United States (map)

Join Cultured Forest for a guided Forest Bathing experience under the comfort of the giant oak trees in Waterloo Greenway. We are pleased to offer this event for free as part of Self Care Sundays in Austin, TX.

Forest Bathing is based on a Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku that involves connecting with nature by “Bathing in the Forest Atmosphere.” Studies show spending time in nature lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and reduces stress.

In this activity, you will learn about the History of Forest Bathing and then indulge with fellow nature appreciators in relaxing meditation and forest therapy in a guided outdoor class. This is a slow moving experience of walking and observing the natural environment.

Plan to appreciate the trees and natural settings of the park, while learning activities that allow you to better connect with nature through mindfulness, even in urban settings. Leave feeling centered, connected and more at peace. We are excited to end this session with a tea tasting.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and dress for the weather (i.e., hat and sunglasses). We recommend bringing a water bottle. You can expect to walk over paved ground and up a few stairs at a slow pace. Please email brooke@culturedforest.com if you are in need of accommodation or have questions about accessibility.
