Shinrin-Yoku: Forest Bathing in The Loch in Central Park NYC

  • Central Park 103rd and Central Park West New York, NY, 10025 United States (map)
Tree Canopy In Central Park

Join Cultured Forest for two hours of guided Forest Bathing in the The Loch of Central Park. This session will be led by our Founder Brooke Mellen who you may have seen in Vogue and WSJ Magazine. She trained in Forest Medicine with Dr. Li in Japan.

Forest Bathing is based on a Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku that involves connecting with nature by “Bathing in the Forest Atmosphere”. Studies show time in nature lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and reduces stress. In this activity, you will indulge with fellow nature lovers in relaxing mindfulness and self-care in a guided outdoor class. Plan to see some of the most natural settings of the park, while learning activities that allow you to better connect with yourself and the outdoors. You will visit two waterfalls in The Loch. Leave feeling centered, connected and more at peace. Learn how to bring Mindfulness in Nature into your personal Wellness routine.

We are excited to end this session with a tea ceremony. Attendees must be 8 years or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This will require about a mile of hiking with some stairs and walking up and down steep inclines and over rocks.

Masks will be required for anyone who is not vaccinated against Covid per CDC and NYC guidelines.

Cost is $40.
