Shinrin-Yoku: Mini Forest Bathing Session in Central Park NYC

  • Central Park 72nd and Central Park West New York, NY, 10022 United States (map)

Group of Women Forest Bathing in Central Park NYC with Cultured Forest

Join Cultured Forest for a Mini-Session of guided Forest Bathing among the beautiful trees on the West Side of Central Park NYC near 72nd Street. This session will be led by our Founder Brooke Mellen who has been featured in Vogue and WSJ Magazine. She trained with Dr. Li and certified in Forest Medicine in Japan.

Forest Bathing is based on a Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku that involves connecting with nature by “Bathing in the Forest Atmosphere”. Studies show time in nature lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and reduces stress. In this activity, you will indulge with fellow nature appreciators in relaxing meditation and forest therapy in a guided outdoor class. Plan to see some of the most natural settings of the park, while learning activities that allow you to better connect with nature through mindfulness. Leave feeling centered, connected and more at peace. We are excited to end this session with a tea ceremony and snacks.

Attendees must be 8 years or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This will require about a mile of hiking with some stairs and walking up and down steep inclines and over rocks. Attendees will be required to wear a face mask and socially distance if they are not vaccinated per NYC and CDC guidance. The group will be limited to 9 attendees. The cost is $20. Meeting location will be provided upon registration.
