Shinrin-Yoku: Virtual Community Nature Therapy Workshop

  • New York United States (map)

Join Cultured Forest and a small community of outdoors and nature enthusiasts for limited engagement interactive video conference workshop discussing how to stay connected to nature while feeling stuck indoors for long periods of time. You will join a community of nature-lovers online and share photos of moments in the outdoors, relax with nature-centered guided meditation and discuss ways to set-up your home as a place of refuge. We will start with an educational section on the benefits of nature connection as seen in practicing the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku or "Forest Bathing". We'll then teach you how to bring this wellness practice into your home with creative projects and will even write Haiku poems. We'll promote an open, nonjudgemental community for greater connection, calm and peace during a difficult time in history.

Brooke Mellen the Founder of Cultured Forest as mentioned in Wall Street Journal and Vogue will lead this session. The event will be held via Google Hangout Video Conference, so be sure to have a strong connection to join. We will email you a calendar invite with sign-in details before the event. Be prepared to introduce yourself to the group, interact, share a nature photo and your thoughts when you feel comfortable. We are requesting a pay-what-you-can suggested donation of $10 for the event. The minimum donation Eventbrite will accept is $1.00. Please only feel obligated to pay based on what you are able. This session is limited to 5 participants.
