Join Cultured Forest and a community of outdoors and nature enthusiasts for a video conference workshop discussing how to access the healing benefits of nature while dealing with difficult emotions and trauma. You will join a community of nature-lovers online and detox with nature-centered guided meditation, learn ways to mindfully channel difficult emotions in the outdoors and discuss ways to set-up your home as a place of refuge. We will start with an educational section on the benefits of nature connection as seen in practicing Shinrin-Yoku or "Forest Bathing". We'll then teach you how to bring this healing practice into your home with creative projects through writing prompts and goal setting. We'll promote an open, nonjudgemental community for greater connection, focus and calm during a difficult time in history.
Brooke Mellen the Founder of Cultured Forest will lead this session. The event will be held via Google Hangout Video Conference, so be sure to have a strong connection to join. We will email you a calendar invite with sign-in details before the event. In lieu of payment, we ask if you are able to make a donation to an organization that we feel works to diversify the outdoors called NYC Inspiring Connections Outdoors. NYCICO carries out the Sierra Club's mission to make the outdoors more accessible for all, working with low-income New York City youth who would not otherwise have access to nature.
